1. Non-Commercial & Anti-Gambling Declaration

FriendlyBet (friendlybet.live) is a completely free, open-source (MIT Licensed), non-commercial hobby project. It was created solely to power friendly, casual, and office prediction pools among friends and colleagues.

FriendlyBet does not process, facilitate, or support any real-money transactions, betting, or gambling of any kind. No monetary value is exchanged on this platform. There are no in-app purchases, no wagers, no payouts, and no commercial relationship of any sort between FriendlyBet and its players. The only thing on the line is bragging rights.

2. Zero Data Collection Policy

FriendlyBet has no signups, no registration forms, and no third-party trackers. You play behind a nickname of your choosing, and that is the extent of the personal information involved.

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or IP addresses. Your prediction group data is entirely public or accessible via a generated group code, with zero tracking cookies or analytics scripts attached. The only data stored in your browser (via localStorage) is what is strictly required to keep you logged into your pool: a user ID, the pool ID, your nickname, your recovery code, and your language preference. None of this is advertising or behavioral data.

3. Authentication & Security Blueprint

So that search engines, auditors, and players fully understand the architecture, here is how access works under the hood:

Authentication and group access are handled using a client-side generated 16-character unique key. This plaintext key is hashed using SHA-256 before interacting securely with our database via Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS). No passwords, personal data, or sensitive user credentials ever enter our database. The recovery code is your only credential, it lives on your device, and the server only ever sees its irreversible hash.

4. Open Source Transparency

FriendlyBet is fully audited and transparent. Anyone can inspect, review, or self-host the entire codebase by visiting our official repository at github.com/Aviatorpo/friendlybet.

Because the full source is public under the MIT License, every claim on this page can be independently verified — there are no hidden trackers, analytics, or data flows beyond what the code openly shows.

Third-party infrastructure

We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers strictly to deliver the app. They may process basic technical request data as part of serving content:

• Supabase — database storage (with Row-Level Security).
• Vercel — static website hosting.
• football-data.org — match results and schedule.
• CDNs for fonts and icons (Google Fonts, jsDelivr).

We do not place advertising or behavioral analytics (such as Google Analytics) anywhere on this site.

Data retention & your rights

Data is kept only while a pool is active. Pool admins can remove members, and you may request to view, correct, or delete the information associated with your nickname at any time. Because we hold no contact details, the simplest path is to reach us via the GitHub repository below.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and material changes will be surfaced in the app.
